4.3 Unlimited Plans and Fair Use

Some ShipScout plans are sold as Unlimited. This section sets out exactly what that covers, so there are no surprises later. The short version: you can search as much as your work needs, and a few heavier features keep their own allowances.

What Unlimited covers. Unlimited applies to searches. A search means one query you run that returns your first page of results. Run as many as you like.

What keeps its own allowance. A few features cost real money every time they run, so they stay metered on every plan, Unlimited included. Your current allowance for each is shown on the Pricing page and in your account:

  • Pagination: the pages of results after the first one. Paging deeper into a result set draws from your page allowance, which is a standard part of every plan and is never unlimited.
  • Intelligence Reports: researched company reports sit on their own allowance rather than coming out of search.
  • Profile views, exports and contact requests: each has its own allowance.

The daily ceiling. Unlimited search carries a generous daily ceiling. It is there so that a single account cannot slow the platform down for everybody else, and most customers will never come close to it. If you do reach it, searching simply resumes at the start of your next day. Nothing you have done is lost, and you are not charged anything extra. Your ceiling and the time your day resets are both shown in your account, and we may adjust the ceiling from time to time as we tune the platform.

Heavy use by a real person is completely fine and is not what this section is about. The ceiling is there for automated traffic and shared logins.

Using Unlimited the way it is meant. Unlimited is built for a person doing research. To keep it that way, please do not:

  • Use scripts, bots, crawlers or other automated tools to run searches
  • Extract data systematically in order to copy, mirror or rebuild a substantial part of our database
  • Share one login between several people, or use it from several places at the same time. We are happy to add seats for your team at a fair price
  • Resell results or pass them to people outside your business
  • Work around the ceiling, or open additional accounts to stack allowances
  • Use the Services to benchmark against, or to build, a competing product

If something looks off. We will almost always start with a message to you. From there we may slow requests down, adjust your ceiling, or pause the account while we sort it out. Occasionally, where there is a genuine risk to the platform or a legal issue, we may need to act straight away. If an account is paused because it was being misused, we are not able to refund that period. We go by what our access logs show, and we apply this section reasonably and proportionately.

A few boundaries. Unlimited is for you and your own business use, it stays with your account and is not transferable, and it does not promise that any particular company, country or record exists in our coverage. Unlimited also gives you more searching, not wider rights over the data itself: republishing it, or rebuilding it as your own database or product, is not included, and all use remains subject to Sections 6 and 7 below. Indian trade information on ShipScout is mirrored, licensed trade data and carries the same restrictions wherever it appears.

If we change what an Unlimited plan includes, we will let you know in line with Section 1, and continuing to use the Services after that means you accept the change.
